Hi there! I’m Alys, founder and head tutor of Tutti Tutoring.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved to learn. And, over the last ten years, I have also loved helping others to learn. Through my experiences, I have not only taught students of all capabilities, but I have learnt so much from them too. Learning is something we do together, and every student’s learning journey is unique.

I began tutoring at school, leading reading groups for underprivileged students, and continued tutoring on an individual basis alongside my university studies. Very quickly, I realised how much I enjoyed the process: breaking down tricky concepts, finding creative ways to explain things, and most of all, watching a student’s confidence grow. Over time, what started as a side passion turned into a calling. I’ve since tutored hundreds of students across a wide range of subjects and levels, from primary school through to university, and I founded Tutti to bring together everything I’d learnt about effective, personalised teaching.

With a first-class degree in English from Durham University and a Master’s in Creative Writing from the University of Cambridge, I have a strong academic background, but more importantly, I’ve spent over a decade honing my skills as a tutor. Alongside one-to-one lessons, I’ve run group workshops, revision courses, summer schools, UK and US university application courses and creative writing sessions, supporting students through some of their most important milestones. My experience spans exam preparation, long-term academic support, and subject enrichment for students who want to stretch themselves further to reach their potential.
